Patient support programs – digital or hybrid? — AI & Digital Pharma

Traditionally, Patient Support Programs (PSPs) relied on a dedicated team of nurses to deliver personalized, high-touch care. While this model ensured strong patient engagement, it was also resource-intensive, costly, and difficult to scale. As a result, many programs were either phased out or significantly reduced over time. The emergence of digital PSPs has introduced a new paradigm—offering scalability, efficiency, and AI-driven personalization. These solutions can adapt to individual patient needs, providing continuous engagement, real-time monitoring, and automated support. However, despite their advantages in accessibility and cost-effectiveness, fully digital solutions may lack the human connection that many patients value. Moreover, implementing a digital PSP requires strategic investment in technology and infrastructure. A third approach is the hybrid model, which combines the scalability of digital solutionswith the personalized touch of human interaction. During this session, we will mainly explore the digital & hybrid model, and identify which approach is best suited for different healthcare requirements and patient- and HCP preferences.
